This square pillow channels the nostalgic art and mood of a classic 90s console game box, reimagined with the sweeping drama of 90s JRPG–inspired imagery. Soft beige tones and carefully placed graphics bring a collectible, vintage-gamecase vibe to your couch or gaming nook. The double-sided print keeps the artwork visible from every angle, while the plush recycled polyester insert expands slightly beyond the cover to create a full, pillowy silhouette that invites you to lean in and linger. It’s a cozy accent that speaks to long nights of storytelling, strategy, and soundtrack memories — an easy way to add personality to a shelf, chair, or gaming setup without overwhelming the room.

Behind the design

An interview with the designer

What's your memory of this game?

It came out in Spain for Christmas '97. I rented it and was completely blown away. My parents had given me a PlayStation at the end of that summer, but no memory card. That was coming in January, for Three Kings' Day. I couldn't save, so I left the console on all night, praying it wouldn't burn out. In the end a friend lent me his memory card until I got mine. I was 15 and I lived in my own fantasy world. The graphics blew my mind, and the intro music gave me goosebumps and watery eyes.

Why the whole box, front and back, instead of just a picture of the hero?

Because the box takes you back to the day you first held it in your hands. The pillow is square, just like the original case, so it's like holding the game again, only huge. A character print would have looked cool, but the box is the memory. When the first sample arrived, I couldn't believe I had made it.

Which detail matters most to you?

All of it: the title, the logo, the console branding. I used to stare at every detail of that box and look at the screenshots on the back, wondering when I'd reach that part of the story.

Who did you make it for?

For anyone who gets that same feeling. I picture it on a bed, a sofa or a gaming chair, and someone looking at it and remembering where they were, who they played it with, the house they lived in back then, the old CRT TV, the disc drive grinding while the game loaded. If I could, I'd give one to everyone who got goosebumps playing it, cried when a certain character died, or felt happy and sad at the same time watching the final credits.
